Kisii branch KUPPET boss floored in election

The Kenya Union of Post Primary Teachers (KUPPET) Kisii branch Executive Secretary Omari Albert has lost his seat in the just concluded elections.

Omari was beaten by Joseph Abincha who garnered 1,604 votes to the incumbent’s 1,346 in the elections held on January 17. Wilber Makori came third with 88 votes while Laban Ongaki garnered 59 votes.

Abincha is a Chemistry and Physics teacher at Sengera SDA Secondary in Kenyenya sub-county. He also trained a volleyball team which represented Kenya in the East Africa Secondary School games.

Branch chairman Laban Bosire Ouko retained his seat. He is a teacher at St. Ann Nyangoge Girls from Kisii South.

Maticha Samuel was elected branch vice chairman, Everline Peter is the branch Assistant Executive Secretary while Ogutu Kiago clinched the Treasurer position.

Jentrix Ogolla won the contest for the Assistant Treasurer seat, Lydiah Kebati is Secretary Gender while Kinyanchui Abel won the post of Organising Secretary.

Achimba Caleb was elected Secretary Secondary while Conrad Rwenyo won the race for Secretary Tertiary.
