Kipkelion East Member of Parliament met with principals from constituency schools on Monday, July 21, 2025. The meeting, which brought together more than 20 heads of schools, was held at the NG-CDF offices, where the MP and the principals discussed key education matters.
In the meeting, Joseph Cherorot flagged bursary cheques worth 5.24M for Form Four day schools. According to the MP, this will ease the financial burdens faced by parents. The money is expected to fill the already widening gaps in education finance matters.
“This morning at our NGCDF main office, I held a productive breakfast meeting with principals from our constituency’s schools to discuss key education matters as we gear up to lead in academic performance within our county,” the MP said.

CDF legitimacy continues to cause jitters in the political field, and public participation to entrench the fund in the constitution happened in early May.
The four-day exercise, which took place from May 4 to May 7, saw Members of Parliament lead delegations nationwide in providing their views on whether the National Government Constituency Development Fund (NG-CDF), the National Government Affirmative Action Fund (NGAAF), and the Senate Oversight Fund should be entrenched in the constitution.
The stalemate was witnessed after the Supreme Court clearly stated that there was a need to separate powers between national and county governments fully. The bill is now in parliament, awaiting further action.
