Cabinet Secretary (CS) for Interior and Administration of National Government Prof. Kithure Kindiki has donated Ksh1 million towards the expansion of Elangata Wuas Primary School in Kajiado County.

Kindiki said that the initiative will help learners in the area to access education as they have been having challenges due to remoteness and poor infrastructure in the area.

He was speaking when he launched the new Elangata Wuas sub-county in Kajiado West Constituency in efforts to bring services closer to citizens.

The creation of the sub-county now brings the total number of sub-counties in the County to six.

The CS also created one division and two locations in Mosiro ward.

Fred Masingila was installed as the first Deputy County Commissioner of the newly created sub-county.

Kindiki said that government officers who will work in the region will receive hardship allowances after the gazettement.

“The government will also ensure that there is enough fresh water in Elangata Wuas,” he added.

The area residents used to receive services at Kajiado West sub-county headquarters in Kisamis several kilometers away.

He warned the new and existing administrators against engaging in corruption saying that it will destroy the reputation of the security sector.
