Kilifi parents urged to support academic programmes to boost education standards

Kilifi County KUPPET Executive Secretary, Caleb Mogere.

Parents and other education stakeholders in Kilifi County have been urged to support academic programmes in the region to improve education standards.

Speaking to Education News in Kilifi town recently, KUPPET Kilifi branch Executive Secretary Caleb Mogere said that to realize better examination results, there is a need for concerted efforts among all stakeholders and the responsibility should not rest on teachers alone.

Mogere lauded teachers in the county for their dedication which led to impressive results in the 2023 KCSE and KCPE examinations and urged them to double their efforts to realize better results this year..

The KUPPET boss further called on the government to increase the allocation of capitation funds towards secondary schools decrying that the funds were insufficient.

At the same time, he called on the county’s education office to follow up with the Ministry on when the remaining 25% of capitation grants for term 1 will be disbursed.

“The disbursement of the grants will enable schools in the county to operate smoothly,” he noted.
