Kibabii University’s pride, Faith Ogallo, has been officially recognized among Kenya’s National Heroes during the 2025 Mashujaa Day celebrations held yesterday, in a moment that marked yet another milestone in her illustrious sporting career.
Ogallo, a celebrated Taekwondo Olympian and coach at Kibabii University, was feted under the Sports Category for her outstanding contribution to Kenya’s sporting excellence and her role in inspiring young athletes across the country.
Her recognition by the National Heroes Council crowns years of dedication, discipline, and triumphs on both the local and international stage. Ogallo first made headlines when she represented Kenya at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, later earning the distinguished title of Olympian for Life at the Paris 2024 Olympics, an honour reserved for athletes who embody the values of excellence, friendship, and respect.
Her winning streak continued with a Gold medal at the 2025 African Open Series Zone Five Taekwondo Championship and another Gold at the 2018 East Africa University Games held in Dodoma, Tanzania.

In a statement released on Monday, Kibabii University lauded Ogallo’s recognition, describing her as “a beacon of inspiration and a symbol of excellence.”
“Coach Faith’s achievement is a reflection of hard work, perseverance, and the spirit of determination that defines our institution. She continues to inspire our students, athletes, and the entire university community,” the statement read in part.
Ogallo’s Mashujaa Day recognition places her among an elite group of Kenyan heroes who have contributed immensely to the nation’s development in various fields. Her success story is particularly significant for young women in sports, illustrating the heights that can be achieved through talent, commitment, and resilience.
