Kiambu MP launches mobile JSS lab equipment to boost education

Kiambu Member of Parliament (MP) Machua Waithaka alongside the School Equipment Production Unit (SEPU) fraternity presided over the handing over of mobile Junior Secondary School (JSS) laboratory equipment to head teachers, teachers, and pupils from various primary schools across the constituency.

The move intensifies MP’s commitment to enhancing educational standards in his constituency, focusing on equipping both Junior Secondary Schools (JSS) and secondary schools with essential learning facilities.

The MP speaking during the event emphasized that the mobile laboratories are a crucial intervention designed to allow JSS students to effectively prepare for their upcoming national examinations.

While acknowledging the temporary nature of the mobile units, MP Waithaka reassured stakeholders that his leadership, through the Constituency Development Fund (CDF), is fully dedicated to the construction of modern, fully equipped permanent laboratories in all schools.

“This is only a temporary measure, as my leadership is fully committed to constructing modern, fully equipped permanent laboratories in all our schools,” Waithaka stated, underscoring the long-term vision for infrastructure improvement.

In a related development showcasing the transformation of learning environments, the MP also announced the completion and full equipping of a modern Home Science Laboratory at ACK St. Joseph Riabai Day Secondary School.

This new facility aims to shift the learning paradigm from theoretical instruction to practical application. “Here, learners will gain practical skills that will empower them in everyday life and beyond the classroom,” MP Waithaka explained. The initiative is part of a deliberate “step-by-step” strategy to give Kiambu children the necessary tools for a brighter future.

MP Waithaka added that through these targeted investments in infrastructure and equipment, the CDF team continues delivering the promise of quality education and modern learning facilities across Kiambu Constituency.
