Khwisero Member of Parliament, MP Christopher Aseka has reaffirmed his commitment to boosting education standards in the constituency, saying education remains the cornerstone of community development and empowerment.
The MP was speaking during the official handover of the newly completed Elwangale Primary School Administration Block in Munjiti Sub-location, Kisa East Ward, a project fully funded by the National Government Constituencies Development Fund (NG-CDF).
Aseka said his office would continue channeling resources toward upgrading learning facilities to provide a better environment for pupils and teachers.
“Education remains at the heart of our development agenda. Through continued investment in learning facilities, we aim to empower our children with the tools and environment they need to succeed,” he said.
He noted that equitable access to quality education was the most sustainable path to transforming livelihoods and bridging the gap between rural and urban communities.
The event was graced by Principal Secretary for Economic Planning, Dr. Boniface Makokha, who praised the MP for prudent use of NG-CDF funds and for focusing on projects that directly impact the lives of ordinary citizens.

Dr. Makokha said the Elwangale Primary School project reflected effective planning and accountability, adding that it was a model of how public funds could be utilized to improve local infrastructure.
“I commend MP Aseka and the NG-CDF team for their transparency and the visible progress in Khwisero. This project demonstrates what visionary leadership and community participation can achieve,” Dr. Makokha said.
Also in attendance were NG-CDF Board Chairperson John Olago Aluoch, former Kakamega County Assembly Majority Leader Joel Ongoro, local administrators, and education stakeholders.
The visiting leaders lauded the MP’s focus on education, saying the new block would strengthen school management and improve service delivery at Elwangale Primary School.
Aseka expressed gratitude to the visiting officials for their support, noting that partnerships between local leaders and government agencies were key to driving development in rural areas.
“Dr. Makokha’s visit reaffirms our shared belief that education and community development are the surest paths to transforming lives,” Aseka said.
The newly commissioned administration block adds to a series of education projects funded through the Khwisero NG-CDF, including classroom renovations, laboratory construction, and bursary support for needy students.
Residents hailed the development as timely, saying the improved facilities would ease school operations and enhance learning outcomes.
