The Kenya Secondary Schools Heads Association (KESSHA) has unveiled its 2026 calendar of events, outlining a busy schedule of county conferences, national meetings, and international engagements for school principals across the country.

According to the updated calendar, county conferences will largely take place in April 2026, bringing together secondary school heads to deliberate on policy implementation, leadership, curriculum reforms, and management of institutions under the Competency-Based Education (CBE) transition.

Several counties have already confirmed their conference venues and dates.

Among them, Uasin Gishu principals will meet in Kampala, Uganda from April 7–11, while Kiambu heads will convene in Mombasa from April 6 to 9.

Kisumu County’s conference is scheduled for April 7–11, and Migori principals will gather in Kisumu from April 14–17. Other counties such as Narok, Kakamega, Nyeri, Machakos and Taita Taveta have also secured venues across towns including Nakuru, Meru, Mombasa, Malindi, and Nanyuki.

The highlight of the year will be the National Conference scheduled for June 22–26 at Sheikh Zayed in Mombasa, where hundreds of principals are expected to attend.

Regionally and internationally, KESSHA members will participate in the African Confederation of Principals Council Meeting scheduled for April in Johannesburg, South Africa.

Later in the year, Kenya will be represented at the International Confederation of Principals Convention slated for September 16–18 in Auckland, New Zealand.

The 2026 calendar signals an active year for secondary school leadership, with principals expected to engage in professional development, networking and policy discussions aimed at strengthening management standards in Kenyan secondary schools.

KESSHA officials say the conferences will provide a platform for school heads to share experiences, address emerging challenges and align institutional leadership with national education priorities.
