Kericho senator Aaron Cheruiyot has pledged to sponsor teachers from Tengecha Girls High School for a fully funded trip to Mombasa following the school’s impressive performance in last year’s Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE).
Speaking during the thanksgiving ceremony for institution following academic achievement, the senate majority leader commended the teachers for their dedication, discipline, and teamwork, which he said played a critical role in elevating the school’s results.

He noted that rewarding teachers is one way of motivating them to continue shaping the future of young Kenyans through quality education.
Representatives of the teaching staff expressed excitement about the trip, saying that in previous journeys they have usually travelled by the Standard Gauge Railway (SGR).
This time, they are looking forward to flying to the coastal city — an experience many described as refreshing and memorable.
