The now-viral case of 39-year-old Kenyan woman Linner Sang, who was killed in the UK, has revealed that she was a TSC-registered teacher. The prime suspect in her murder has been arrested as fresh details continue to emerge.
Her husband, Edwin Kiplangat Yegon, 29, who had joined her in the UK on a dependent visa, is the prime suspect and was arrested and has since been charged in connection with her death.
According to Thames Valley Police, Yegon was formally charged on September 9 with one count of murder and two counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
Sang moved to the UK in late 2023 to pursue her studies and later secured employment as a social worker and carer. Yegon also found work in the UK care sector.

News of Sang’s death has deeply shaken the education community in Kenya, where she was remembered as a dedicated teacher before her move abroad. Her family has appealed for emotional and financial support to help repatriate her body for burial in Kenya. A UK-based funeral committee has been formed to coordinate arrangements and will share details on how well-wishers can contribute.
The case is expected to proceed in a UK court this week as investigations continue.
