A Kenyan school has won Futuristic Education award for innovation in learning at the 31st World School Summit in Dubai.

The annual gathering that brings together educators, policymakers and private sector players to showcase new trends in learning, saw Rophine Field Group of Schools announced as the recipient of the Best School in the Globe.

The award has drawn significant attention in Kenya, where it has been hailed on social media as a milestone for the country’s education sector, reflecting a growing appetite among local schools to compete in global forums centred on technology, inclusion and future-focused curricula.

At the same event, the school group’s co-founder and chief executive, Dr Boniface Owiti Anyango, was presented with an Honorary Doctorate in Business Administration, in recognition of what summit organisers cited as his role in expanding access to innovative learning models across Kenya.

“This is a shared victory for every teacher, parent and child who has believed in our vision. We are building for a world that is already here,” Dr Anyango said.

The latest award came weeks after the group announced that its international campus had received recognition during World Teachers’ Day activities this year for creativity in teaching and learning.

Education stakeholders say Kenya’s rising presence in international education forums signals both ambition and competition, as schools increasingly adopt global benchmarking to attract parents, partnerships and cross-border recognition.

Rophine Field Group of Schools, runs multiple campuses in Utawala, Kamulu, Diani and other regions, offering specialized learning tracks in STEM, sports, arts and social sciences.

While global awards for schools have multiplied in recent years, education experts note that such honours resonate most when paired with measurable outcomes such as student performance, employability, innovation, and market impact areas local institutions are now increasingly keen to highlight.
