The Kenya National Library Services’ Ol’Kalou branch has been officially transferred to the County Government Nyandarua after the function was devolved.

According to local Governor Dr. Kiarie Badilisha, the transfer was driven by the recognition of the County Government’s capacity to better serve the unique needs of the local population.

He said that the move to bring the library under the County’s jurisdiction will enhance its operations and expand its reach, ensuring optimal resource utilization.

Moreover, the Governor pointed out that the transfer will encourage local involvement and ownership of the library, fostering a sense of community pride and responsibility.

Additionally, he said that his Government aims to establish the branch as a vibrant hub for knowledge exchange, research, and intellectual growth.

Furthermore, Dr. Kiarie highlighted that the integration of the library’s staff into the County Government ensures that dedicated professionals will continue to serve the community, now integrated into the County’s comprehensive educational network.

He also said that this collaboration is expected to create synergies and opportunities for cooperation with other educational institutions in the region, fostering a holistic approach to education.

The governor further noted that this initiative will significantly benefit the community and advance educational endeavors in Ol’Kalou.
