Keiyo South Member of Parliament, MP Gideon Kimaiyo has announced that bursary disbursement across the constituency will commence next week, with funds to be issued directly at polling stations in a move aimed at enhancing transparency and fairness.

According to the schedule released by the MP, bursary distribution will begin on Monday, January 19, at Metkei Ward, followed by Kabiemit Ward on Tuesday, January 20.

The exercise will continue on Wednesday, January 21, in Chepkorio Ward, Thursday, January 22, in Kaptarakwa Ward, and Friday, Janaury 23, in Soy South Ward, before concluding on Monday, January 26, in Soy North Ward.

MP Kimaiyo emphasized that the bursary allocation will be polling station–based, targeting residents living within each polling station area rather than registered voters.

He clarified that residency, not voter registration status, will be used to identify beneficiaries, noting that even non-registered voters who reside in the area will be eligible.

To safeguard the integrity of the process, the MP issued firm directives barring CDF office staff, chiefs and assistant chiefs from interfering with the identification and allocation of beneficiaries.

Chiefs and assistant chiefs, he said, will strictly provide security during the exercise.

The MP further noted that day secondary school students will not receive bursaries, reiterating that day secondary education is free in Keiyo South.

Priority will instead be given to orphans and persons living with disabilities, in line with the constituency’s social protection goals.

All bursaries will be issued openly at polling station grounds, with no disbursement taking place at the Nyaru CDF Office.

University and college students have been advised to ensure their parents or guardians represent them during the exercise.

The initiative underscores MP Kimaiyo’s commitment to transparent, community-driven education support across Keiyo South.
