The Kenya Secondary School Heads Association (KECSHA) leadership from Mandera County has held a high-level engagement with the association’s National Chairperson, Haji Fuad, Principal of Nairobi Comprehensive School, to deliberate on pressing issues affecting school principals in Northern Kenya.

The meeting, attended by KECSHA officials and union representatives, focused on challenges facing Junior Secondary Schools, capitation, and the implementation of the Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC). The discussions were described as candid and forward-looking, with leaders reaffirming their commitment to strengthening education in the region.

KECSHA National Chairperson Haji Fuad emphasized that the future of Junior Schools must be anchored on the recommendations of the Presidential Working Party. He dismissed proposals to have two principals in one institution, warning that such a move would destabilize the education sector. “This is not an option. It would spell disaster and risk collapsing the system,” he said firmly.
