KCSE candidate electrocuted in floods after finishing the day’s paper

A KCSE candidate in Mombasa was yesterday electrocuted as she waded through floods in Bangladesh area on her way home shortly after finishing a paper.

She was a candidate at Kajembe High School and was going back home after finishing the day’s paper when she was struck by electric shock, killing her on the spot.

Witnesses said the 19-year old was walking along a narrow path which had been flooded following heavy downpours when she suddenly dropped dead.

It later emerged that the flooded paths had some live electric wires that transmitted the currents through the flowing water.

The body has since been taken to the Coast General Hospital morgue as investigations continue.

Most parts of the Coast region have experienced heavy flooding with transport operations coming to paralysis following the ongoing rains that are being linked to the El-Nino phenomenon.
