The Ministry of Education, led by Cabinet Secretary Julius Migos Ogamba, in collaboration with Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) officials, will release the 2025 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) results tomorrow, Friday, January 9, 2026, at 9:30 a.m.

The announcement will take place at A.I.C Chebisaas School in Moiben, Uasin Gishu County, Eldoret, bringing relief to more than 929,000 candidates who sat the national examinations.

The results will be officially announced following a State House briefing in Nairobi, in line with established protocol, where President William Ruto was on Wednesday evening briefed by Education Cabinet Secretary Julius Migos Ogamba and senior sector officials ahead of the release.

The Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) has already activated its online results portal, signalling readiness for the release. Candidates will be able to access provisional results immediately after the official announcement by entering their index number and selecting the 2025 examination year.

The portal allows candidates to view, download and print their results slips, although KNEC cautioned that temporary delays may occur due to heavy traffic shortly after release.

In a significant change, candidates will collect their KCSE certificates from Sub-county education offices, under new rules aimed at improving accountability and record management.

The ceremonial State House briefing is a standard procedure ahead of the public declaration of national examination results, with KNEC and the Ministry of Education traditionally presenting the final report to the President before results are made public.
