President William Ruto on Wednesday evening hosted a consultative briefing at State House, Nairobi, with Education Cabinet Secretary Julius Migos Ogamba and senior sector stakeholders ahead of the official release of the 2025 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) results.

The Ministry of Education has since confirmed that the results will be released by Thursday next week, with CS Ogamba dismissing concerns over delays, saying the ministry is adhering to the now-established practice of announcing KCSE results in January.

The ceremonial briefing is a standard protocol before national examination results are made public. Traditionally, the President is formally briefed by the Ministry of Education and the Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) prior to the public declaration.

KNEC has also activated its official online results portal a day before the State House briefing, indicating that provisional results will only be accessible after the formal announcement.

The interface is live and ready for candidates to check their results once released.

According to KNEC, candidates will be able to instantly access provisional results online by entering their KCSE index number and selecting the 2025 examination year on the official portal. The system supports viewing, downloading, and printing of results slips, though temporary delays may occur due to high traffic immediately after release.

According to Ogamba, the marking exercise was concluded on December 13, 2025, with 32,558 examiners deployed across 40 marking centres countrywide.

This year’s KCSE is among the final cycles under the 8‑4‑4 education system, as Kenya continues its transition to the Competency‑Based Education (CBE) curriculum
