A family in Molo are mourning the death of a 14-year-old Standard Eight KCPE candidate who slipped and died at Michina Bridge in Molo, Nakuru County on Sunday evening.

The victim’s mother, Ms Agnetta Mwikali said her daughter fell in the presence of her colleague whom she was escorting to a nearby trading centre for a hair-cut.

“We had spent the day with her in church since she was a staunch follower of Repentance and Holiness Church in Molo town. After the church service, she walked home and left me in town buying her necessary requirements ahead of the KCPE examinations,” said the tearful mother.

She said the sudden death of her daughter doomed her future aspirations of becoming a teacher since she was optimistic of garnering 360 marks when the KCPE results were out and join Kambala Girls Secondary School in Molo.

During an interview with the Education News at their home in Michina sub location on the outskirts of Molo town, Ms Mwikali said her only daughter was eager to sit the exams since she had tirelessly been revising. On many occasions, the mother said the victim woke up as early as 4am in the morning to ensure that all she wanted revised is completed on time before going to school.
