The KCB Foundation has set aside 100 scholarships for students with disabilities under its 2026 KCB Scholars Programme, reaffirming its commitment to inclusive education and empowerment of marginalized learners across the country.
In a letter addressed to the Executive Director of the National Council for Persons with Disabilities (NCPWD), Eva Njoroge, the Foundation’s Head of Programmes, Joblin Omari, said the initiative aims to enhance access to education for bright and needy learners in all 47 counties.
Through the KCB Scholars Programme, the Foundation supports beneficiaries through both secondary and tertiary education in public institutions, providing not only tuition and learning materials but also psychosocial support and mentorship to boost transition and retention rates.
Recognizing the financial and social barriers that learners with disabilities often face, KCB Foundation has reserved 100 out of the 1,000 available scholarships in the 2026 intake specifically for this group.
To ensure transparency and proper targeting, the Foundation has partnered with the NCPWD to help identify and mobilize at least 200 qualified candidates nationwide, from which 100 will be selected.

They must also be registered persons with disabilities under NCPWD, come from needy households, and have attended public Junior Schools.
Omari noted that the initiative is part of the Foundation’s wider inclusion agenda aimed at restoring educational opportunities for learners with disabilities and breaking the cycle of poverty through education.
“We believe this initiative will play a crucial role in restoring educational opportunities for persons with disability, enabling them to achieve their full potential and break the cycle of poverty,” he said.
Since its inception, the KCB Scholars Programme has supported thousands of learners from disadvantaged backgrounds, contributing to national efforts toward inclusive and equitable education for all.
