KATTI Principals resolve to support the implementation of CBET

EDUCATION, KATTI

Principals of the Kenya Association of Technical Training Institutions (KATTI) have said they will cooperate fully towards the implementation of Competency-Based Education Training (CBET).

Speaking during their Capacity Building Workshop held at Pride Inn Paradise Beach Resort in Mombasa County recently, they revealed the trend would ensure quality education training in the Technical Training Institutions in the country.

The Principals further disclosed that lack of infrastructural development has been identified as a major stumbling block towards offering quality technical education training in the technical training institutions in the country.

They however expressed great concern over the low student enrolment in the newly established Technical and Vocational colleges (TVCS) in the country.

However, the Principals called on all TVET stakeholders in the country to work as a team in a bid to enrol more youths who completed their Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education ( KCSE ) course to the nearest Technical and Vocational Colleges in the country to acquire basic technical skills.

They also emphasized the importance of technical education training and asked parents and guardians to embrace technical education training.

At the same time, the Principals said Technical Training Institutions play a vital role in the country preparing the youths for future self-employment.
