The Kenya Accountants and Secretaries National Examinations Board (KASNEB) has notified students and training institutions about the upcoming April 2026 examination session.
On Friday, February 20, via statement the board confirmed that the examinations will take place from Monday, April 20, to Thursday, April 23, 2026.
KASNEB listed several critical timelines and compliance requirements that candidates and institutions must meet before the examinations begin.
The board emphasised that registration for the April sitting must be completed by Friday, March 20, noting clearly that no deadline extension will be granted.
All processes related to registration, exemptions, examination booking, and annual renewal must be completed strictly via the KASNEB student portal. The board stressed that payments outside the official system will not be recognised.
Students taking examinations outside Kenya have been instructed to remit fees in US dollars through KCB Ltd., Account Number 1123096465, Capital Hill Branch.
KASNEB cautioned candidates against making cash or M-PESA payments to individuals or any member of staff. The board also stated that cheque payments will not be accepted from students or training institutions, except those issued through the National Government – Constituency Development Fund.
Candidates must ensure they obtain proper authorisation to sit for the examinations as part of the compliance requirements.
The announcement follows closely on the heels of KASNEB’s unveiling of a new biometric registration and identification system to tighten examination security.
In a notice released on Monday, February 16, the board introduced the Biometric Registration and Identification System (BRIS), describing it as a move to improve efficiency, transparency, and integrity in examination management.

“KASNEB is dedicated to enhancing the examination experience and upholding the highest standards of integrity, accuracy and security in its examinations. To this end, KASNEB has developed a Biometric Registration and Identification System (BRIS) specifically for KASNEB students,” the notice read.
According to the board, BRIS will accurately collect and securely store students’ biometric data to facilitate seamless registration and verification during examinations. The system will also generate accurate attendance reports and enhance identity confirmation processes.
The first phase of implementation will focus on selected Computer-Based Examinations (CBE), including Certificate in Accounting and Management Skills (CAMS), Accounting Technicians Diploma (ATD), Certified Credit Professional (CCP), Certified Quality Professional (CQP), Certified Forensic Fraud Examiner (CFFE), and Certified Public Finance Manager (CPFM).
KASNEB confirmed that biometric data collection will involve capturing a facial image and at least two fingerprints.
“KASNEB will capture biometric features, including a facial image and at least two fingerprints, to ensure secure and reliable identification throughout the examination cycle,” the board said.
Students should appear in person at designated registration centres with valid identification, such as a National ID or passport.
Before biometric data collection, candidates must complete and sign a consent form in compliance with data protection laws.
“All biometric data will be handled with strict confidentiality and used solely for examination administration and related official purposes,” KASNEB said.
Further details on registration venues, schedules, and specific requirements will be communicated directly to affected students and institutions.
