Kangundo Member of Parliament Fabian Muli has expressed concern over the deteriorating secondary school education standards in the constituency.

Speaking at Kathithyamaa Secondary school, Muli disclosed that his office will set up a strategic meeting with all education stakeholders to formulate ways of improving the education standards.

Muli disclosed that he is working on ensuring every school has proper infrastructure and a conducive learning environment.

“This year we are planning on ensuring every school gets four tiled classes and we are creating a budget to ensure they also get administration blocks. I would like to urge teachers to ensure as we try our best to support education they too should also do their best to bring forth results,” said Muli.

Muli spoke after awarding the school a cheque worth Ksh 1.2 million for bursaries.

The lawmaker disclosed that he will disburse a sum of Ksh 45 million shillings worth of bursaries to day and boarding secondary schools and higher institutions.

“For days schools we have 14 million shillings, another 14 million for boarding schools and the rest goes to those in colleges and universities,” he noted.

Muli also asked school heads to talk to parents and come up with a fee-paying plan that will ensure no child is sent home for fees.
