Kanduyi MP John Makali launches a tune of Ksh 52.4 million for bursaries

Kanduyi member of parliament,John  Makali  has  unveiled  NG-CDF  kitty  bursaries   fund   worth   Kshs  52.4   million to cater for the needy   students   from   across  eight  county  assembly  wards  located  within Kanduyi  Constituency in Bungoma   County.

While addressing   the  Press at  St  Peter’s  Sang’alo   Secondary  School   during   the  official  launch  of  the  third  cohort  of  bursaries  this  Financial  Year ,MP Makali  said  that  each  ward  has  a total  of   850   student  beneficiaries   whereby  500  are   from  Day  Secondary  and  100  For  Boarding  schools  plus  250  who  are  from  tertiary  institutions  like  Colleges  and  Universities  to  cater  for  their  Tuition   Fees.

“ Day  Scholars  will  receive  a  bursary  worth  Kshs  5,000 , Kshs  8,000  for  boarding  schools  hence  those  in  Institutions  of  Higher  Learning  getting  a total  of  Kshs  10,000,”  said Makali.

According   to Makali  the  vetting  process  was  an  open  process  which  was  conducted  by  various  Stakeholders  in  the  community  including   teachers  and  chiefs  to  ensure  that  no  deserving  learner  is  left  out  of  the  programme.

The legislature also called  upon parents  to  chip  in  since the  funds  can  never  be  enough  to  cater  for  every  students  or  schools  needs  so  as  to  Improve  the  quality  of  Education.
