Kanduyi MP hands over 51-seater bus to St Thadeus Ndengelwa Secondary in Bungoma

The Kanduyi Constituency Member of Parliament, MP John Makali has officially handed over a 51-seater bus to St. Thadeus Ndengelwa Secondary School in Bungoma County.

According to the legislator, his office through the NG-CDF kitty is keen on ensuring that the education sector is boosted through such initiatives, noting that the school bus cost a tune of Kshs 8.1 Million.

“I sincerely thank Father Collins Mambo for dedicating this school bus as it was a promise I made to the school, and today, I am proud to have delivered. As agreed, the responsibility now shifts to the school—to deliver results,” Makali noted

The lawmaker further urged on the National Government through the Ministry of Education to streamline the intake of students into Grade 10 senior schools, reiterating that many parents are finding it a challenge securing admission of their children into schools of their choice as per their Preferred Learning Pathways under the Competency Based Education.

MP Makali also revealed that bursaries forms for needy students will be distributed fairly to learners, noting that the vetting process will be free and fair across all eight wards in the constituency, saying that a total of 6800 students have already been earmarked to benefit, calling upon on parents to chip in on the fees balances payment.

He used the occasion to call upon on school principals to desist from frequently sending away students home for school fees, noting that a lot of academic time is wasted on the roads.
