The education sector at Chevoso Secondary School in South Kabras, Malava Constituency, has been prioritised after the National government, through President William Ruto’s aide Faruok Kibet, disbursed Sh. 1 million for the construction of a laboratory in the school.

The move has put a smile on the teacher’s face, as well as on the students’, after Farouk visited the school during the official launch of the construction of a modern laboratory.

The school principal, Dishon Apal, revealed that the absence of infrastructure developments, such as classrooms, a laboratory, and a library, has led to poor performance in the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) exams.

He urged the National government through TSC to expedite the process of employing more teachers to fill vacant positions, adding that the shortage of teachers had led to poor KCSE results.

“Last year, the KCSE exams were done without infrastructure in place. I call upon other donors to provide support for the construction of the school,” he lamented.

Apala urged parents to take an active role in their children’s education, ensuring they establish a good rapport between teachers and students, and emphasised the importance of paying the lunch levy on time.
