Kakamega School is facing a monumental leadership crisis, with the expected exits of the school principal and his two deputies at the close of this term.

Chief Principal Dr. Julius Mambili proceeds on terminal leave on July 31, with no one left behind to midwife the transition, as both his deputies, who are also in an exit mode after being promoted to principal status, are also departing.

The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) confirmed that the lack of a vacant station stands between the exits of Deputy Principal Wycliffe Nandwa and Deputy Principal David Sikulu.

“Yes, the two deputies have been promoted, but there won’t be any crisis when the principal leaves office,” Kakamega TSC director Wilson Koros told Education News.

Dr Mambili has been in charge for the past two and a half years, and his imminent departure has sparked intense lobbying among his peers eager to succeed him and some local leaders.
