Kakamega’s St Paul’s Lubinu girl’s high school deputy principal Everlyne Savatia has urged the government through the Ministry of Education to expedite in the delivery of grade 10 textbooks and other facilities needed to turn the CBE transition dream into reality
The call comes at a time when teachers in various schools across the Country struggle to source grade 10 subject notes via internet in order to make facilitate learning.
The deputy principal speaking in her office said the children have the enthusiasm to learn and teachers are also very ready but the biggest challenge is that, there are no textbooks to help Grade 10 learners go through the course.
“This is a hard zone kind of education system in the country. Teachers would wish to have books so that students do more research and more discussions on their own, teachers also need the books for guidance.” She decried
She added that the Grade 10 learners are set to begin learning this week and have been streaming in quite slowly with a turnout of 40 percent in admission
Deputy principal in charge of academics at Lubinu boys high school echoed the sentiments saying the CBE transition into senior schools has put them into confusion and they do not know exactly where to start.
