Kakamega Governor FCPA Fernandes Barasa has welcomed the new Chief Officer for Education, Anselm Mulinya, among 12 others who were sworn in to serve in his government.
The governor was speaking during the swearing-in Ceremony of the new Chief Officers, who took the oath of office.
He also took the earlier opportunity to wish all the very best, and of course, as they strive to serve in his government, because the priority is people-centric service.
Governor Barasa affirmed that the process of appointing new chief officers is long, rigorous, and in accordance with the law.
Mulinya was sworn in as the new Chief Officer for Education, Science, and Technology in the County government of Kakamega.
He vowed to diligently discharge his duties and perform his functions in the said office to the best of his ability.

“I shall at all times require faithfully and truly give my consent and advise the governor and the executive committee members in education department and shall maintain secrecy and confidentiality in the course of my duties and shall not divulge any information gained by me, as a result of this appointment shall uphold the honour and dignity of my office with justice to all.” Mulinya declared
The new Chief Officer for Education holds a Bachelor’s degree in Education from Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology (MMUST) and is currently pursuing a Master’s of Arts degree in Geography at Mt. Kenya University.
His foundational training includes a school teacher from St. Paul’s Teachers Training College and KCSE from Shikokho Secondary School.
Mulinya has served in various capacities in the education sector, rising through the ranks from classroom teacher to head teacher.
Additionally, he is vast in constitutional values, frameworks and programmes based on budgets and hails from Ikolomani Sub-County.
