Kajiado leaders celebrate Oldorko School for impressive performance in National Olympic Games

Kajiado leaders have held celebrations for Oldorko Comprehensive School whose athletic heroes flew the Kajiado County flag high at the National Olympic Games.

Student Amos Sinkoi (Grade 6) won double gold in the 100m and 200m while Joshua Mutunkei (Grade 5) topped in Javelin.

Denis Toyonkei (Grade 9, Saikeri Comprehensive) took 3rd place in the 400m

The three champions will represent Kenya in the East African Athletics competitions scheduled for August this year in Kakamega County.

The leaders were led by County Committee Executive Member of Education Janet Sereu , Mosiro ward MCA Jonathan Koroine and KNUT chief executive officer  Elly korinko.

Sereu described the students as an inspiration, stating that their journey proves that with support and opportunity, talent can thrive regardless of background or geography.

The CECM urged parents to support their children in nurturing not only academic excellence but also extracurricular and sporting talents, noting that such abilities open doors to greater personal and professional success.

Addressing the teaching fraternity, she encouraged educators to pursue higher education and continuous professional development, emphasizing that empowered teachers are essential to delivering quality education and unlocking student potential.

The CECM further reiterated the Kajiado County Government’s commitment in improving the quality of education across all wards, especially in remote areas in the county.
