Kajiado East Constituency Member of Parliament (MP) Kakuta Maimai has launched the construction of a new secondary school.
Speaking during the groundbreaking ceremony of the school in Isinya town, the MP revealed that the institution will be named Isinya Township Secondary School.
He emphasized his dedication to ensuring that every child has the opportunity to transition to secondary school, irrespective of their economic circumstances.
“Parents in Majengo and the surrounding areas should seize the benefits of Isinya Day School and enroll their children,” Maimai stressed.
Additionally, he noted that he aspires to reduce the cost of secondary school education from Ksh. 5,000 to Ksh. 3,000 per term in day schools.
“Three other secondary schools in the constituency, nearing completion at 99%, are slated to open next year,” the MP highlighted.
In response to concerns raised by Isinya residents about school dropouts due to financial constraints and distant school locations, Maimai is actively addressing the low transition rate from primary to secondary schools in the region.
