Nursing students at Kaimosi Friends University (KAFU) are set to benefit from a significant academic advantage following the donation of top-tier NCLEX preparation materials by Kenya Nurse Consultant LTD.

The materials, including the NCLEX Virtual Trainer and Quick Facts for NCLEX, were officially handed over to the university on Monday in a ceremony attended by university leadership, faculty, and representatives from Kenya Nurse Consultant LTD.

The initiative, spearheaded by Kenya Nurse Consultant LTD under the leadership of Brenda Imali, is expected to greatly enhance the university’s capacity to prepare students for the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX),a mandatory credential for nurses seeking to practice in the United States and other countries.

Speaking during the event, Professor Fred Amimo, Deputy Vice Chancellor for Academic, Student Affairs, and Research, described the donation as a “spark of inspiration” for nursing trainees.

“This is more than a donation—it’s an opportunity that positions our students on the global stage,” said Prof. Amimo. “These tools will be instrumental in helping our graduates pursue international licensure and careers abroad.”

Also in attendance was Dr. Anne Asiko, Chair of the Department of Nursing, who noted the materials would be immediately integrated into the department’s training programs.

“We are thrilled to receive these world-class resources. This partnership reflects our ongoing commitment to equipping our students with the tools they need to excel in global healthcare,” said Dr. Asiko.

The donation further cements KAFU’s status as a certified Remar NCLEX Training Site, a growing distinction that enhances the university’s appeal to aspiring nurses aiming for international practice.

Faculty members and students welcomed the donation with excitement, capturing the moment in photos and expressing gratitude for what many described as a “game-changer” in their academic journey.

The NCLEX-RN exam is widely recognized as one of the most rigorous nursing licensing tests worldwide. Access to specialized preparation materials is expected to significantly improve the pass rate and global competitiveness of KAFU’s nursing graduates.

With this partnership, KAFU joins a small but growing number of institutions in Kenya aligning their nursing education with international standards, as demand for qualified nurses continues to rise globally.
