Kabuchai Member of Parliament MP, Majimbo Kalasinga has launched a major education support initiative by sponsoring bright students transitioning to Grade 10 in senior secondary schools.
The scholarship targets learners admitted to national and extra-county schools with the MP committing to pay their full school fees.
Speaking during the announcement, Kalasinga said the beneficiaries are future leaders who are expected to positively shape the country.
He emphasized that investing in education is a long-term investment in national development, adding that no bright child should miss out on quality education due to financial constraints.

Under the arrangement, parents and guardians will only be required to provide personal effects and shopping for the students while the MP fully caters for tuition fees.
Kalasinga noted that this shared responsibility ensures families remain actively involved in their children’s education as he eases the biggest financial burden.
“These are now my children,” Kalasinga said, adding that all beneficiaries have been placed under his scholarship program until they complete their education.

He assured parents and students that the support will be continuous, provided the learners maintain discipline and good academic performance.
The initiative has been welcomed by parents, education stakeholders and community leaders, who described it as timely and impactful, especially at a time when many households are grappling with the rising cost of living.
They noted that the scholarship will motivate students to work harder and pursue their dreams without fear of being sent home for school fees.
The programme reflects MP Kalasinga’s strong commitment to education empowerment, youth development, and nurturing future leaders in Kabuchai Constituency.
