The Kabete National Polytechnic has entered into partnership with the Signet Institute of Australia to offer the Australian-accredited programmes in the Kenya.
The partnership on July 23, seen the Australian institute officially opened its office at Kabete National Polytechnic, marking a major step in strengthening Kenya’s technical and vocational education sector.
The partnership aims to introduce Australian-accredited programmes at Kabete National Polytechnic, expanding opportunities for Kenyan youths to acquire globally competitive skills.
According to TVET PS, starting September 2025, the Institute will offer Australian-accredited courses in Automotive Engineering, Business, Health and Building & Construction.
She revealed that these programmes are designed to align with industry demands in Australia, providing learners with practical skills that meet international standards.

The programme is expected to address youth unemployment by equipping students with competencies that are highly sought after in both local and international job markets. Additionally, it will contribute to Kenya’s national economic growth by producing a skilled workforce capable of driving industrial development.
This collaboration enhances Kabete National Polytechnic’s position as a centre of excellence in TVET, while fostering global linkages that expose students to international training and employment opportunities.
The PS added that the applications for enrolment into the new programmes will be coordinated through Kabete National Polytechnic’s admissions office, where further course details and application procedures will be provided.
The launch event was presided over by the Principal Secretary for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET), Esther Muoria, and graced by the Australian High Commissioner to Kenya, Dr. Wilson Kogo.

Pushpinder Singh Sharma of the Signet Institute of Australia, the Principal of Kabete National Polytechnic, and the institution’s Board Chair were also present during the event.
