Kabarnet Boys High School in Baringo County has admitted identical twins, Ronny Kiprop Kiplagat and Tonny Kiptoo Kiplagat, to Grade 10, following a successful parental request to have the brothers study at the same institution.
One of the twins had initially been slated to join Koilel Boys High School. Still, the family petitioned for a review, citing the siblings’ mutual support and the benefits of learning together.
The school administration approved the request, saying the decision aligns with its commitment to student welfare and the role of family bonds in academic and personal development. Teachers and classmates welcomed the twins warmly, noting that their presence is likely to foster camaraderie and teamwork across the cohort.
“We are thrilled to start this new chapter together. Studying together has always motivated us to do better, and we hope to continue supporting each other,” Ronny and Tonny said after reporting to the school.

Administrators emphasized that keeping siblings together can strengthen peer support systems and improve student outcomes, especially during the transition into senior school. The twins’ admission has been framed as a practical, student‑centred decision that balances placement logistics with the social and emotional needs of learners.
As they settle into Kabarnet Boys, the Kiplagat twins say they are ready to embrace the demands of high school life and build on their shared discipline and perseverance.
The school wished them success as they begin their studies, calling their story a reminder that thoughtful placement decisions can have a lasting impact on a child’s educational experience.
