Kabarak University regains full control of hacked Facebook account

Kabarak Facebook

Kabarak University has finally regained full control of their Facebook page today afternoon after a hacker allegedly from Indonesia took control of the page last week.

The institution has restored the page’s cover photo which the hacker had changed, and announced to the public and students that it had regained full control of the page.

“We are back,” the notification read.

However, some online users have expressed skepticism that the institution must have caused the move deliberately to amass more followers as the page followership grew to a whopping 32,000 more followers totalling to 72,000 followers in less than a week after the hacking.

“The trick that you people used was woow, imagine you’ve gathered 30k followers,” a social media user wrote.

“The Kabarak University page which was hacked few days ago has gained over 20k followers in less than 10 days because of the ‘unique’ content being shared there,” another social media user wrote.

The hacker is reported to have gained access to the page by tricking an administrator into giving them the log in credentials before he proceeded to hack the account.

At the same time, the university management has asked the staff and students to be cautious when giving out their login credentials and to report any suspicious activity immediately.
