In a major boost to the education sector in Kiambu County, Juja Member of Parliament George Koimburi yesterday presided over the official launch of a massive KSh 73 million bursary disbursement program.
The event, held at the Toll Grounds in Murera Ward, drew a high-powered delegation of national leaders, signaling a united front in the push for academic empowerment and youth development within the constituency.
The KSh 73 million fund is set to benefit thousands of secondary and tertiary students across Juja. Speaking during the ceremony, Hon. Koimburi emphasized that his administration remains focused on ensuring that financial constraints do not hinder the dreams of deserving students.
“Our agenda is firm: people-centered service and inclusive development,” Koimburi stated. “By investing in education today, we are securing the foundation of a sustainable tomorrow for Juja. This is not just about fees; it is about giving our youth the tools to be self-reliant.”
Beyond the bursary scheme, the MP highlighted ongoing technical programs, including hands-on training in electrical installation and plumbing, designed to equip the youth with practical skills for the modern job market.

The occasion was graced by National Assembly Majority Leader Kimani Ichung’wah (Kikuyu MP), Majority Whip Hon. Sylvanus Osoro (South Mugirango MP), and Githunguri MP Gathoni Wamuchomba.
Ichung’wah lauded the initiative, noting that such significant investments are critical to easing the economic burden on Kenyan families.
“This launch of over KSh 72 million is a testament to what focused leadership can achieve. We are here to ensure no child is left behind due to a lack of school fees,” Ichung’wah remarked.
Echoing these sentiments, Wamuchomba praised the unity among area leaders. She pledged that the legislative team would continue to defend budgets that favor the grassroots.
“As a team, we pledge to support the government of the day and follow these projects to completion. We are in this government for your gains,” she said, while also expressing gratitude to President William Ruto for his support toward the day’s success.

The event took on a political tone as supporters and leaders alike reflected on Koimburi’s track record since 2021. Amidst chants of “Kazi Kwampago” and “Juja Ni Koimburi,” the mood was one of confidence in the current leadership.
Supporters at the Toll Grounds voiced their rejection of “divisive politics,” opting instead for the “tangible development” seen in infrastructure and education under Koimburi’s tenure.
With the bursary checks now heading to various institutions, thousands of Juja parents can breathe a sigh of relief as their children return to class.
