A compassionate investor with his community at heart from the semi-arid Ntumburi location in Buuri constituency has established a technical college meant to train local youths and tap local talents from the regions.

Speaking during the launch of the Fusion Skills Technical College recently the investor, Stanley Ntiritu Kiambati said that from his childhood he had a dream of changing the semi-arid area location to a place that inspire, motivate and promote the wellbeing of locals especially youth.

The college will offer technical training in automotive, plumbing, electrical & electronics, ICT, hair dressing & beauty therapy, housekeeping, food & beverages and driving among others.

“We were born and grew up in this semi-arid region and life was hard for us due to the dry nature of our locality. But now myself and other likeminded locals who have very strong feelings of our community at heart have decided to come up with Fusion Skills Technical college which will offer relevant simple technical skills to our youth so that they’ll easily get employed upon getting trained”, said Kiambati.

Kiambati also said that those who will join the college and choose to be trained in the automotive sector will have an added advantage because the Isuzu Company has a workshop within the college compound where they repair Isuzu vehicles in the Mt. Kenya East region thus through mutual partnership students will be able to carry out their practical within the college.

“We are working in partnership with Isuzu Company and they have one of the biggest workshops in this region within our compound, therefore for students who will choose to be trained in automotive industry they’ll go for practicals within the college compound. This will be a big advantage to them as they’ll have enough time to learn everything required of them in the automotive industry within the college. Our college is open to students from other parts of Kenya and not only from our home area,” he said

Also talking during the same event, the guest of honor Wilson Muchai, lauded Kiambati for having thought to plough back to his community, where he was born and grew.

He advised parents from the locality and within the surrounding regions to grab the opportunity of bringing their sons and daughters to the college for the benefit of being the first lot to be trained in the new college.

Muchai further advised the students who already had enrolled in the college and were being trained in various fields to be very attentive, serious and industrious in what they were being trained, adding that at the end of the training they will be people to be relied on for the services they’ll be offering their communities.

“Coming up with this kind of a college in the village so that local youths can have a place where they can go for technical skills training is no mean fit. It’s a big investment meant to help local citizens to uplift themselves by bringing their sons and daughters to get training which will enable them to be worthwhile members in their local communities after being trained and acquiring skills,”

“This is an indication that Kiambati who is the founder of this college is a true son of this community for this is an exemplary kind of an action he has undertaken,” he said.
