Tetu Technical and Vocational College took a significant step forward in its expansion efforts with a groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of eight new classrooms.

The development marks a milestone in the institution’s mission to enhance access to quality technical and vocational education in Nyeri County.

The event, held at the college grounds, was presided over by Nyeri Senator Wahome Wamatinga, who hailed the project as a beacon of hope and a driver of long-term social transformation.

“Today, we didn’t just break ground — we ignited a new chapter in education,” said the senator. “We are building not only classrooms, but a brighter future for our students and our community.”

Once completed, the new classrooms are expected to greatly ease congestion at the institution and provide an improved learning environment for students pursuing various technical and vocational programs.

The expansion is timely, as the college continues to experience steady growth in enrollment, in line with Kenya’s broader goals of equipping youth with practical skills for the job market.
