Kisii County Governor Simba Arati has asked the youth to seize any available opportunity to equip themselves with skills that will enable them to secure employment. Speaking at Kisii Stadium on Wednesday March 27 during the graduation ceremony of the Ajira Institute he said county administration will support them to achieve their goals.

Saying that cultural, economic and societal changes create a need for a different approach of education he implored teachers and students be open to change and tackle new opportunities.
“When we talk of education, we stretch our minds beyond four walls of a room and see further than formal education that happen in primary and secondary schools as wee as colleges,” he said.

He asked the youth to embrace tacit knowledge and integrate it with the explicit one and use the two to solve critical problems in society.
He revealed that since the programme started about one year ago, 9000 youths have graduated in various fields including Financial Management, Computer Science Technology, and Content Creation among others.

During the fifth Graduation, more than 2000 graduands were awarded certificates and diplomas in various disciplines.
The Governor who was flanked by his designate Deputy Governor Elijah Obebo asked graduands to go to the world and seek employment with confidence because they had been armed with enough knowledge.

He however asked them not to aim at acquiring employment only but to use any little money they may get to advance their education.
“Our government has given free education sponsorship, now go and grow your own wings for your prosperity and that of your children,” he said.
