Jaramogi Oginga Odinga University of Science and Technology (JOOUST), has closed all its academic programmes which were being undertaken in their Busia County’s Nambale Campus.

According to the Vice Chancellor Prof. Stephen Agong’, they were advised by the Commission of University Education (CUE) to transit all the programmes to their main campus in Bondo as the Nambale campus was not accredited.

Over 300 students who were learning at the campus raised complaints over the move but the Vice Chancellor urged them to be calm because learning and even exams were basically being done online and that it would be accessible to all of them.

He added that the students should not complain because other campuses like Kisii and Nairobi were also closed.

Prof. Agong’ who spoke to Education News however stated that Nambale being a property that was donated to them shall not completely be closed.

The Vice Chancellor said that they will continue to hold it as a community outlet center until such a time when they shall have developed it for accreditation.
