There is a need for joint efforts in combating mental health and drug and substance abuse among the youth, especially students, Meru National Polytechnic Chief Principal Mutembei Kigige has said.
Speaking during a meeting with students, Ngige said most people are suffering mental health and alcohol, drug and substance abuse because of diverse difficulties.
“I urged parents to support their children; the majority of students are unable to concentrate on their education due to financial constraints and some end up in immoral activities,” he noted.
He appealed to the youth to be seeking assistance from the grown-ups whenever they face challenges rather than indulging in immorality.
