The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) plans to hire close to 9,000 teachers in both secondary and primary schools.
A total of 7, 672 of the new teachers will be deployed to secondary schools, while 1,000 will be posted to primary schools.
This is to support a new government policy to have all primary school leavers enrolled in secondary schools. The country is estimated to have teachers’ shortage of 155,000.
Eligible candidates must be Kenyan citizens, 45 years oldd or below, must have original professional and academic certificates and must be registered as teachers.
Applicants for posts in the primary schools must have a P1 certificate, while those seeking jobs in secondary institutions must have a minimum of a diploma in education.
Interested candidates should apply to the secretary, board of management of the school or institution where the vacancy has been advertised and submit a copy to TSC county Director.
Applications should be submitted by May 25th 2018.
