Isinya Township Primary School to relocate soon – Moshisho

Isinya Township Primary School in Kajiado East Sub County where teachers and pupils were reported to be sharing toilets will soon be relocated to new grounds, Kajiado County deputy Governor Martin Moshisho has said.
Concerned over the current situation at the school, Moshisho apologized to the children on behalf of the County Government for the neglect.
“We have read in the newspapers that this school had toilet problem where teachers share the facility with children. On arriving here I was shocked that the more than 600 pupils are squeezed in an eighth of an acre space. This is total shame,” said Moshisho.
He said there is no other option but to relocate it to spacious site. He, however, did not specify where it could be moved to.
Before the deputy Governor spoke, the area MCA Joshua Olowuasa said he has not been sleeping because of what the children undergo at the school.
“I started this school when I was the local councilor, but I did not expect it to grow so fast. I am happy that the media highlighted its plight for the County Government to realise what our children go through,” he noted.
The MCA lamented that due to lack of enough space, the pupils have been going to a nearby farm to answer calls of nature.
“The owner of the land whose husband passed on some years back has complained about this. She has been accusing me of disrespecting her because her husband is no longer around to defend his property,” said Olowuasa.
The Kajiado County Press was the first to highlight the plight of the school early in the year.
The deputy governor was accompanied by county education committee member Samuel Kanar and other dignitaries from the Ministry of Education.
