Irate parents protest grabbing of school land

Parents and learners at Kianyabinge Primary School in Kisii Central Sub County on Monday went up in arms against land grabbing of the primary school.

Led by the school chairman, the residents claimed that a private developer encroached the school land and erected a perimeter wall around it.

The irate parents demolished the perimeter wall as the developers and his contractors watched helplessly.

They then matched to Kisii county education offices to seek audience over the matter.

A junior officer, who sought anonymity, urged the public to report such incidences to the police instead of taking the  law into their hands.

Efforts by Education News to get a comment from Kisii County Education director Philip Chirchir were futile.
