The Ministry of Education in collaboration with MaxGlobal Group Ltd, the Ministry of Education and Culture of Finland and the Education Tampere Cluster stakeholders have launched The Kenya-Finland International Conference on Enhancing Education in Kenya at Pride Inn, Mombasa

The international conference themed ‘Co-creation of Curriculum, Training, Policy Development and Linking Education to Industry’ aims to bring together education stakeholders from higher institutions and colleges to share best practices in enhancing Education reforms.

The conference kicked off today, 23rd August and will run until Friday, 26th August 2022

The Principal Secretary for Vocational and Technical Training Margret Mwakima invited Principals of Technical Training Institutes, National Polytechnics and Technical Vocational Centres requesting them together with their Deputy Principals and Registrars of students and academic affairs to attend the event  indicating that the conference would underpin co-creation of curricula, joint research, policy development and industry linkages to academia.

This is in a bid to address the perennial disconnect between the needs of the industry and the skill sets of graduates churned out from institutions of higher learning.

The approach to co create curricula is aimed at supplying the industry with well equipped personnel highly trained to solve the economic and social challenges of the 21st century.

The main objective of the conference is to raise awareness and share information about the transformation of education in the country by building the capacities of teachers and lecturers, training of trainers, linking education with industry, promoting research, innovation, policy development and fostering collaboration between industry and academia.
