The Government has officially declared Friday, June 6, 2025, a public holiday to mark the Islamic festival of Eid-ul-Adha.
In a public notice issued under the Public Holidays Act (Cap. 110), Cabinet Secretary for Interior and National Administration Kipchumba Murkomen announced the designation of the holiday in accordance with Section 2(1) of the Act.

The notice, dated June 3, 2025, aims to facilitate nationwide observance of Eid-ul-Adha, a significant religious celebration for Muslims worldwide that commemorates the willingness of Prophet Ibrahim to sacrifice his son as an act of obedience to God.
The government urges all Kenyans to respect the day and extend goodwill to the Muslim community during this important occasion.
