The State House in Nairobi will host a landmark gathering of 10,000 teachers and education stakeholders tomorrow, Saturday, September 13, 2025, for a meeting with President William Ruto.
The day begins with arrival at 6.30 am. and breakfast at 7am, before all delegates settle in by 7.45am for the President’s arrival at 8am.
The opening session will feature the National and East African Community Anthem, a prayer by Ms. Mercy Ndung’u, and entertainment from the Teachers’ Choir.
Basic Education Principal Secretary Prof. Julius Bitok will then introduce and set the tone for the event, followed by a welcome from Education Cabinet Secretary Julius Migos Ogamba.

President Ruto is expected to deliver the keynote address, which will be the centrepiece of the programme.
Speeches will follow from key education leaders, including KNUT Secretary General Collins Oyuu, KUPPET Secretary General Akello Misori, KUSNET’s Charity Michocho, KEPSHA Chairman Fuad Ali, and KESSHA Chairman Willis Kuria.
The President will later respond to their presentations before receiving the East African Community Trophy.
The event will conclude with a vote of thanks from Ms. Irene Yaile, a closing prayer by Mohamed Dubat, and a group photo session.
The meeting comes after weeks of planning led by PS Julius Bitok, who finalised the composition of the 10,000-strong delegation. KNUT will send 3,300 delegates, KUPPET 2,000, KUSNET 400, KEPSHA 2,300, and KESSHA 2,000.
