The Kisumu West KNUT branch Chairman Tobias Ogalo has called on the Kisumu County Government to consider increasing salaries for ECD Teachers.
Ogalo says the current remuneration of the tutors is not commensurate with the tough economic times and the far flung areas in which such teachers are posted by the County Government.
“An ECD Teacher earning between Sh10, 000 and Sh15, 000 is posted far from his home, commutes or has to rent. They end up being indebted all through as the salary cannot meet their basic needs.” lamented Ogalo.
