By Agnes Orang’o

Students of Ikatini Mixed secondary school in Masinga sub county have been sent home after striking in the morning.

Education News learnt that the students refused to go to class decrying poor management of the school.

In addition, the students protested bad food offered by the school, improper hygiene, insufficient books and poor electricity connection.

The school administration saw it fit to send the students home and report back the following week accompanied by their parents.

Efforts to talk to the Masinga sub county director of education Dennis Kasimbu hadn’t borne fruit by the time of publishing the story.

He noted that the issues raised by the students will be dealt with in due time.

Form one and form two students will report back on Tuesday while form three students will be back on Wednesday and lastly, the candidates will report on Thursday.

The students did not destroy any school property during the strike.
