Makueni County branch of the Kenya Union of Post-Primary Education Teachers (KUPPET) executive secretary Justus Kimeu has said that devolving education is not possible at all.

As KUPPET, he stated that they are opposed to it and believe it should remain a function of the national government.

“If ECDE is not working, how will they handle the rest? It is impossible, and let us follow all the procedures when coming up with changes in education policy,” Kimeu said.

Education remains a matter of national government unless the people of Kenya change the constitution through a referendum.
